Our Siberian Husky Leila passed away a day ago

Post by miyuki on Mon Aug 05, 2013 2:22 am

Our baby Leila passed away last Saturday. We were so devastated. She was so healthy, never got sick and very well attended by my vet friend. Then last saturday, she was on her way out of the house for a walk, just a few steps out of our door to the garage. she went to a seizure and died on the spot. All of us were not around only our caretaker. It was so so sudden! We were later told by a vet who examined her that it she had a massive heart attack. She was 4 years old. We couldnt believe and accept that she passed away. She was interred in a special part of our garden yesterday. I cannot help crying, all of us --me and my partner and two daughters. It is so painful. She left us Destinee who is 2 years old. I cried everytime I think of her or see the empty spot she left in our house. We love her so dearly.
I am very very sad.

What a sad story. I am so sorry! I understand how upsetting it is for you and your family to have lost Leila at such a very young age. I always feel like that is so unfair - losing a (baby) pet like that.

Please take care of each other.

With sympathy,

Dear Gail,

Thank you so much for your kind words. I eyes welled as I read them. The pinch I feel in my heart is so great every time I think of Leila gone forever. You see here in my country, a lot of people do not understand why one mourns the passing of a pet. They just do not understand.
I miss our Leila. She was such a happy, active loving dog. Do you know that we were told by the breeder that Leila was longest to survived from that litter. It is so sad.

Thank you again.

I am so sorry. I do understand that many people still do not connect with others after the loss of a pet. Even here in the U.S. their are people who will scoff at others when the mourn. It hurts and it's sad that they cannot simply support someone who is really, honestly in pain without judging the reason for it.

Please take care and surround yourself with people who do understand. We're out here.

I lost my best friend in the world on June 19th of this year. I have his ashes in a beautiful urn. I certainly understand your pain. I have cried everyday since I lost him. He spent the last 12 years at my side and we went through a lot together. Sometimes I wonder if I would still be here if he hadn't been with me. He was the reason I got out of bed everyday. He was sick half of his life but mostly was still alert and playful. I had to make the hardest decision I have ever made in my life when I decided it was "
time"
to let him go. I stayed with him and told him how much I loved him and that I would miss him so much. It was very traumatic for me but it was something I felt I needed to do for him. He was a Boston Terrier that I rescued when he was 6 months old. His name was Herbie. I feel like part of me died that day too. I have no one to talk to about this. I surely am hurting!!
